Maverick Viñales

Date of birth: 12 January 1995
Nationality: Spanish
First season in MotoGP: 2015
Achievements: 3rd place (2017, 2019)

He switched from Suzuki to Yamaha in 2017, and everyone expected him to be the new star of the “three tuners” and a serious challenger to the then-dominant Marc Márquez. But his relationship with Yamaha deteriorated rapidly in 2021, culminating in the mid-season termination of their partnership. Aprilia became Viñales’ new home from 2021 Aragon Grand Prix. While in his first complete year with Aprilia the Spaniard was rather looking for pace, last year he was more competitive and finished seventh in the championship.
