Martín beleeft dit jaar zijn vierde seizoen bij het Pramac Racing-team. Vorig jaar schitterde de Spanjaard letterlijk en vocht hij zelfs voor de titel. Uiteindelijk werd Martín tweede in het kampioenschap, maar zelfs dat leverde hem geen plaats op in het fabrieksteam. Martín zal dit jaar weer een van de favorieten zijn.
