Somkiat Chantra is set to become the first Thai rider to compete in MotoGP. Between 2019 and 2024 he was racing in Moto2 with the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia. In 2022, he made history as the first Thai rider to win a Grand Prix, achieving victory in Indonesia. A year later, he claimed another win at the Japanese Grand Prix in Motegi.
